1. She Doesn’t Have A Gimmick
At the end of the day, the biggest reason for me why Paige’s run as divas champion has been a failure is the fact that she doesn’t even have a gimmick.WWE fans have not been able to get to know Paige because she doesn’t talk. Why doesn’t she have anything to say? Because I am not even sure what her character is supposed to be about. I know that she is British, young (21 years old) and worked hard to get to WWE.
AJ Lee was a successful champion for the same reason Alicia Fox was a quality challenger. They both embraced a crazy chick gimmick. AJ and Alicia also both have experience with other gimmicks as well. AJ was in love with almost every guy on the roster. When Alicia debuted in WWE, she did so as the wedding planner of Edge and Vickie Guerrero.
If Paige is going to be successful, WWE needs to give her a gimmick. Paige’s shirt reads “Think Again.” What does that even mean? Do you think you know Paige? Think again. Because no one knows who she is. Until we do and until Paige does something that makes an impact on WWE, her reign as divas champion will continue to be viewed as a failure.

Horrible article. The only thing on point is the lack of competition. The WWE loves to promote talentless Divas like the Bellas and Eva Marie. There is no reason why the Bellas should have been shoehorned into the feud with Paige and AJ.
ReplyDeletePaige doesn't need a stupid gimmick, she is a natural grappler who comes from a family grapplers, her wrestling will tell the real story. Gimmicks are not necessarily needed if the wrestler has real technical ability, Johnny Saint was world champion for well over 20 years with nothing but ability and style not by pretending to be something he wasn't
