10 Incidents That Cost WWE Stars Their Big Push 8

8. Fandango Suffers Concussion And Loses All His Momentum

While the former Johnny Curtis is now best known for losing via distraction due to his two ex-girlfriends dancing to his music pretty much every week, there was a time when WWE seemed to be really behind the ballroom bruiser.
In the first few months of 2013, every WWE show would have a Fandango vignette teasing his debut. When Fandango finally appeared on television, he didn’t wrestle for another month. After what seemed like months of build-up, Fandango defeated Chris Jericho in his debut match, at WrestleMania and the next night on Raw, the crowd of hardcore fans from around the world would serenade us for three hours with their take on his theme tune.
At one point, things did look really bright for Fandango, he entered a feud with Wade Barrett and The Miz, and seemed set to win the Intercontinental Championship. Unfortunately, less than a week before the match, Fandango suffered a concussion on SmackDown and was replaced with Curtis Axel, who would go on to win the title. Would this have been the start of something great for Fandango, or has the Intercontinental Championship truly lost its star-making shine?
