WWE: 10 Most Paused Wrestling Moments 5

by Unknown  |  at  02:09

5. Montreal 97

Did he? Didn’t he? The question of Bret Hart tapping or not tapping was on all our minds the morning after Survivor Series 1997. Again, this was before the widespread use of the internet, so most of us were up on the Monday morning rewinding and pausing the Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart match finish. The evidence was of course that Hart never tapped, creating an air of confusion that had us examining the finish again and again for answers.
The reaction of Hart and Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer publication of how the screwjob went down would later clear up all confusion. It would go on to build in legend as the most infamous night in WWF history, the night Vince McMahon ‘screwed’ Bret Hart by having him lose without him ever knowing about it.
Other finishes have also had us hitting pause in disbelief. The recent loss of The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30 being a prime example, sometimes we just can’t believe what we see as WWE fans.
