WWE: 10 Most Paused Wrestling Moments 1

by Unknown  |  at  02:18

1. Lesnar’s Shooting Star Press

Something we watched again and again, hitting pause each time as his head approached the mat, always with the same question in mind – how is this man not dead?
It still seems crazy that Brock Lesnar only walked away from his WrestleMania 19 botched Shooting Star Press with just a severe concussion. His 300 pound weight was driving down through the air to land solely on his neck, head and shoulders. You would have thought he would have at least suffered some sort of neck injury. The pile driving load of his body into his head on the mat was the same force that cracked Austin’s neck back in 2007. It very well could have killed Lesnar given the high gravity and weight load.
Luckily, he just about managed to take the brunt of the force on his face and forehead. If it had been the dome of his head, he probably would be dead. It was meant to be Lesnar’s big moment, his crowning achievement to become WWE Champion at WrestleMania 19. He ended up having to finish the match with zero recollection and a dazed look on his finish.
What this list has demonstrated is that WWE despite its scripted basis, is still one of the most unpredictable shows on television.  You never really know what’s going to happen, even in today’s PG environment we are still seeing things that demand a second glance and pause for thought. “Did we really just see that?”, we often find ourselves saying. In most cases, yes we did.
