10 Wrestlers You Never Knew Were Dead 8

8. Bam Bam Bigelow

Scott “Bam Bam” Bigelow was one of the most prolific wrestlers of the late 80s and early 90s, competing for WWF, WCW and ECW as well as stints in Japan and Jim Crockett Promotions. He was one of the most agile “big men” at the time and with his size, power and distinctive head tattoo, he was known as The Beast From The East.
He was never a champion in the WWF, although he did main event Wrestlemania 11 in a match against former NFL player Lawrence Taylor. He would lose that match, thereby accidentally starting a trend of athletes and actors defeating professional wrestlers in professional wrestling matches. What a fantastic legacy to have! He did have greater success in other companies, as he would hold the ECW World Heavyweight title and ECW TV Title, as well as being a two time WCW Tag Team Champion alongside DDP and Kanyon (more on him later)
Bam Bam left the wrestling limelight when WCW was bought out in 2002 and officially retired in 2006. He would open his own restaurant in Pennsylvania, but moved to Florida when it closed down. He was found dead in his home by his girlfriend on January 19th, 2007. The autopsy revealed his death to be caused by a cardiovascular disease, aggravated by toxic amounts of cocaine and anti-anxiety medication.
